Blooms
There is nothing more difficult for a truly creative painter than to paint a rose, because
before he can do so, he has first to forget all the roses that were ever painted – Henri Mattise.

Blooms that never die…
My romance with flowers endures, faithful and unfading, fuelled by passion and demand. Each voluptuous flower, uniquely its own shape, personality and colour, call out from gardens, to be painted one after another. Each offers an interior journey, a vortex of discovery as folds emerge from smooth surfaces. Their evolution is ever increasingly deliberate and complex, as I attempt to give more.
